Leather Fiesta 2017 Volunteer Information
If you would like to volunteer, please fill out a volunteer request, and you will be contacted by the volunteer coordinators and sent a link to register at the volunter rate. Volunteers who volunteer 4 hours of their time get a reduced rate of $40 volunteers who volunteer 8 hours get into the event at no cost.
Thank you for your interest in volunteering! NMLL is an all volunteer organization. Without community members offering their help, these events simply would not happen. Volunteers help the events run smoothly and ensure the safety of all who attend. We hope that our volunteers enjoy being a part of the event team. It’s a great way to meet new people, and to give back.
Volunteering is a commitment to the event and should be taken seriously. Our team relies on volunteers to show up for their shifts, and to handle the job they signed up for. We make sure that our volunteers know what is expected of them, and who to contact in case of unforeseen circumstances. We are always looking for volunteers able and willing to commit to make the event the best it can be. Every single position is important to every single event.
Our volunteers are an important part of our team, representing NMLL in all that they say and do at the event. It is the expectation of NMLL leadership that volunteers follow the same rules attendees agree to, and behave in a manner that demonstrates respect for themselves, for others, for the organization, and for the event.
Volunteer Positions Available

These volunteers help in transitioning our spaces throughout the event. This includes setting up for dungeon parties, classes, and shows. We also need help at the end of the event to help pack up everything to move out of the hotel on time. This position is important to help us stay on schedule. The more people we have, the faster and easier it is.
Registration volunteers are the friendly, organized, and efficient first faces that attendees will see when they arrive. These volunteers will ensure that all paper work is filled out properly, identification is checked, money collected, and attendees given wrist bands. Registration sometimes gets busy, so being able to remain friendly and calm during high traffic times is important.
These volunteers are tasked with the responsibility of making sure our presenters have what they need. A monitor will meet with the presenter of each class to see if they have everything they need, including water. They will also be the time keepers, making sure the presenters know how much time they have left, and will distribute and collect class review forms.
It is important that we have people to make sure that only the attendees of our events are in our space. We need greeters at our doors, and in the hallway to ensure that everyone who passes through has a wristband. This ensures the safety of everyone who attends. Greeters will also be tasked with shutting the doors in case of an emergency.
Dungeon monitors have the responsibility of making sure that people are being safe while in our dungeon. They should have knowledge of what to keep an eye out for, and be able to intervene in a respectful way if needed. Experience, first aid training and CPR certifications are a plus.
Equipment Loading and Transport
Have a truck and a strong back? We can use your help! Loading and transport are needed to and from the storage area to the hotel both before and after the event: Friday 11:00a–1:00p, and Sunday 12:00-2:00p. You can volunteer for one or both.
